The Spare Change feature allows you to automatically save the difference from purchases you make with your Magenta Pay Visa Debit Card.
When a transaction amount is not a whole number, the app rounds it up to the next whole euro and transfers the difference (your "spare change") to the Piggy you have selected.
Example:
If you make a purchase for €5.40, the amount is rounded up to €6.00, and the remaining €0.60 is automatically saved as spare change.
How it works
To automatically save your spare change, you must enable the automatic deposit option for the Piggy of your choice.
Every time you make a purchase using your Magenta Pay Visa Debit Card:
- Your purchase is completed as usual.
- The transaction amount is rounded up to the next whole euro.
- The difference is automatically transferred to your selected Piggy.
If, at the time of the transaction, there are not enough available funds in your wallet to transfer the spare change:
- The spare change deposit will not be completed for that transaction.
- The app will automatically try again the next time you make a purchase using your Magenta Pay Visa Debit Card.
